1. Basic Definition
A flanged Y-type filter is a pipe filtration device with a Y-shaped structure and flanged ends. It is primarily used to filter impurities from liquids, gases, or steam, protecting downstream equipment (such as pumps, valves, and heat exchangers) from wear and clogging.

Flange Cover: The removable end cap for removing and cleaning the filter screen.
Filter Screen: The core filter element, with mesh size determining filtration accuracy (e.g., 10μm to 10mm).
Drain Outlet: Located at the bottom for draining accumulated impurities.

4. Selection Key Points
Media Characteristics: Select the material (e.g., 304/316 stainless steel) based on the fluid's corrosiveness, temperature, and pressure. Filtration accuracy: Match the filter mesh size or opening size to the size of impurity particles.
Flow matching: Ensure the filter diameter is compatible with the pipeline flow rate to avoid excessive pressure drop.

5. Installation and Maintenance
Installation location: Recommended location is near the pollution source or in front of sensitive equipment.
Regular drainage: Remove impurities through the bottom drain valve to prevent clogging.
Filter cleaning: Remove the flange cover to clean or replace the filter to restore filtration efficiency.
Additional information: Material selection: Stainless steel is suitable for corrosive environments. Carbon steel is lower cost but requires rust prevention treatment.
